Professional experience
In 2010, I joined ING's general management trainee programme. As part of that programme, I had the opportunity to get to know various divisions, also internationally, in a relatively short period of time. In line with my background – Marketing Management (Business Administration) and Media & Journalism, both at the Erasmus University Rotterdam – I focused on communications and stakeholder management. In recent years, I have gained experience in a board environment in my role of Business Manager for, successively, the CEO of ING in the Netherlands and the board member responsible for ING in the Benelux. In addition to that I am currently following a masters’ programme in executive coaching at Hult Ashridge International Business School in London.

Over the past year, I have thoroughly immersed myself in the pension world. I read a lot on the topic of pensions, took courses, talked with experts and, most importantly, have listened to pension fund participants and pensioners. I’ve learned that our brain is programmed to be easily tempted to short-term thinking, while preparing for retirement requires the ultimate in long-term thinking. That's why I see it as my duty to entice my (ex-) colleagues to think for the long-term, among other things by making their pension affairs easily accessible, literally and figuratively.
