Professional experience In
1990 I started at NN as in-house legal counsel, a job that taught me a
lot about pensions. After that I worked for a number of intermediaries
and a pension consultancy. In 2006 I joined trade union De Unie, through
which I’ve been a board member at 15 different pension funds. I am also
a member of the pensions working group at trade union Vakcentrale VCP,
which keeps me in close touch with national pension developments.
Areas of focus Alongside
my general tasks as a board member, I focus on Pension, Communications
& Governance (PC&G), Finance & Risk (F&R), and the
complaints and disputes committee. PC&G deals with pension-specific
topics, external administration, communications and the pension fund's
internal organisation. F&R focuses on finances and risk management.
CDC message Pension
plans change over time, in response to job market developments and
other changes in society. The new national pension agreement will lead
to new changes, which means you should have more insight into your
personal financial future. Pension isn't just an abstract topic “for
later in life”, but is equally important “in the present”. Have you ever
considered what might happen should you become occupationally disabled
or pass away? My ambition is to prompt you to think about your personal
situation and to show you what the pension fund can do on your behalf.
