Separating from your partner? What you should look into
Most divorces are initiated during the first months after the summer. It may sound cliché, but it's a fact. A three-week holiday together could suddenly be the last straw. Or your partner might have fallen in love with someone else during the holiday …

Who gets to stay in the house? Who gets to keep the boat? Who gets that lamp, couch or chair? But that isn’t all. The pension you built up during your marriage or registered partnership will need to be split between the two of you. The division is 50/50, unless you and your partner specifically agree a different arrangement. And your partner will also get ‘special partner pension’.
