Return on investment +7.7% and decreasing funding ratios

The financial results of the third quarter of 2019 are available. The total return on investment was +7.7%. Compared to the second quarter, the funding ratio decreased from 108% to 102%. The policy funding ratio decreased from 114% to 110%. 

Over the past quarters, the value of the fund’s pension commitments (all current and future pension benefits payable by the pension plan) increased more than the value of its investments. This has resulted in a lower funding ratio and policy funding ratio. These developments are caused by sharply reduced market interest rates. Click here for more information.
