ING CDC Pensioenfonds’ Annual Report for 2021 presents its results for that year. Other information provided by the Annual Report includes details of the pension fund's policies with regard to its investments, communications and risk management.
Consistently low interest rates and increasingly strict regulations imposed on pension funds by the Dutch central bank are affecting the ability of pension funds to grant pension accrual and indexation. The board is aware of the impact this is having on the participants and will – together with the employer – continue to communicate with them proactively and as frequently as possible during 2022 to inform everyone of expectations regarding accrual cutbacks and/or indexation and the loss of purchasing power. At the end of 2021, the pension fund's funding ratio rose by several percentage points as a result of rising long-term interest rates, providing prospects for recovery in the long term.
