Bank Mendes Gans is using ‘Learning Lunches’ to discuss important topics such as pensions with its employees. Over lunch, bank representatives and employees talked about the ins and outs of the CDC pension plan. Employees appreciated this initiative and have rated it a 7.9, signalling the start of ING CDC Pensioenfonds’ pension relay.
During three presentations held in June, ING CDC Pensioenfonds Chairman André Hollenkamp updated some 50 employees of BMG on the CDC pension plan. Topics included the roles played by the social partners and the pension fund, the specific features of the CDC pension plan and various sources of information available to employees.
From the evaluation held afterwards, it was clear that the main message, ‘make sure you know where you’re at’ had come across. Employees now know that they can find practical information on the website if anything changes in their work or privatesituation. And if they want to find out more about the fund’s financial position, they can read monthly funding ratio updates and quarterly reports on the website. In addition, a Pension Planner will be made available this summer and the Pension Desk is open each day to answer questions.
