On 9 March 2020, Ilse van der Weiden was appointed to the managing board of ING CDC Pensioenfonds. As a board member, she represents the FNV trade union. Ilse’s areas of focus are pension, communications and governance. She is also a member of the fund’s complaints and disputes committee.
What is Ilse’s experience as a board member?
Ilse has been working at FNV for a long time and gained a wealth of experience as a member of pension fund boards in several different sectors. She is also an experienced negotiator for collective labour agreements and consultations with Ministries. Ilse: “Of course it’s interesting to deal with the entire range of employment conditions, from collective labour agreements to pension, but when pensions became increasingly complicated I decided to specialise in that field. And I enjoy it.”
Together you’re stronger than alone
“I strongly value a collective pension plan, as it ensures there's retirement income for everyone. Solidarity plays a large role in this respect. Because we shoulder it together, it's affordable and costs stay lower. We are facing huge challenges: interest rates are low, a new national pension agreement is in the making and participants expect us to invest their money in a sustainable manner. I’m eager to take on the challenge.”
The ING CDC Pensioenfonds managing board is happy to welcome Ilse and wishes her all the best in her new position as a board member.
