The AOW retirement age will be going up again. In 2028, your Dutch state pension (AOW) will start paying out from the age of 67 years and 3 months. What does this mean for your other pension?
By law, the AOW retirement age of 65 years goes up if our life expectancy rises. The government applies a 5-year horizon to determine the AOW retirement age. Statistics Netherlands (CBS) recently established that life expectancy in the Netherlands has risen, which is why the government decided to raise the AOW retirement age by 3 months in 2028.
When will you receive AOW?
The starting date of your Dutch state pension (AOW) is fixed by the government - you cannot change it and it depends on your date of birth. Please go to the website of the Social Insurance Bank (SVB) to find out when your AOW will start.
When will the pension fund start paying out my pension?
The starting date of your pension benefits from ING CDC Pensioenfonds is a decision you can make. The standard age is 67 years, but you may retire early if you wish – you may start your pension from your 60th birthday.
