ING CDC Pensioenfonds’ funding ratios as at 30 November 2021 are known. The funding ratio is 108% and the policy funding ratio is 107%. Read also the quarterly results of the fund here.

In this edition, the fund explains how the reduction of pension accrual in 2022 will affect you.

As a result of persistently low interest rates, the pension accrual rate will have to be lowered in 2022, just like it was in 2021 and 2020. This means that next year your pension will not accrue at 1.784% but at 1.254%, which means a cutback of 29.7%. This reduction will only apply to 2022.

ING CDC Pensioenfonds tries to increase the pensions of ING’s current and former employees and pensioners on an annual basis, in order to stay in line with the consumer price index. The pension fund takes its policy funding ratio on 30 September as the reference point.

On 15 November 2021, Jorg Sauren was appointed to the managing board of ING CDC Pensioenfonds and NN CDC Pensioenfonds, as a representative of the employer. Alongside his position as board member, Jorg is also Key Officer Risk Management.

The financial results of the third quarter of 2021 are available. The total return on investment was +0.1%. Compared to the second quarter of 2021, the funding ratio increased from 109% to 110%. The policy funding ratio increased from 103% to 106%.

The Dutch pension system is one of the best in the world. And yet, it needs to be updated because society has changed enormously.
