As a benchmark to determine the rate of inflation, we use the overall consumer price index for households in the Netherlands, as published by Statistics Netherlands (CBS). Our current assessment is based on the period running from October 2023 to October 2024. During this time, inflation was 2.58%. In other words, the indexation of your pension in 2025 will largely be in line with the inflation rate for 2024.
Indexation of pensions is subject to regulatory requirements. We have given you the maximum increase allowed under these regulations, given the funding ratio of our pension fund. Full indexation would only be possible if we had a funding ratio of 143%. At present, our funding ratio is 130%.
In 2025, your pension will accrue at the maximum rate, just like it did in the past two years. In 2025, the accrual rate will be 1.776%. That's good news, of course, but nonetheless you need to be critical and regularly check your pension planner on our website. Assess whether you are building up enough pension to live the life you'd like to live when you retire. Bear in mind that for several years your pension did not accrue at the full rate. You could set aside savings for your retirement. If you’d like to find out more about this, we have compiled information for you in Make your own pension arrangements.
