Professional experience
Having worked in several different lines of business (transport and logistics, biotechnology and banking), I have a wide perspective when it comes to business models. Not only with regard to all the different earning models, but also the corresponding risks, which vary quite a bit. I’ve been working for ING in various positions since 2000. I started at Finance & Control and have been with Financial Markets, doing operational audit and control, since 2007. Since 2016, I am responsible for the worldwide rollout of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) within Financial Markets.
In 2011 I joined the Participants’ Council of the current fund, Pensioenfonds ING, and as such I was closely involved in the pension issues that arose over the past 2.5 years. I also chaired the Audit Committee. In view of my position as board member for ING CDC Pensioenfonds, I didn’t put myself up for re-election during the most recent elections for the Participants’ Council.
Committed to
Transparency: communicating to participants in plain and clear language about “difficult issues” and the impact these will have on the pension fund and on the participants themselves. Responsible for good governance of the fund. Ensuring that participants are not hindered by the fact that their pension will be administered by two different administrators. After all, the change was imposed on participants.
CDC message
You should realise that your pension is no longer guaranteed. A lot is changing: legislation, taxation, pension plans offered by employers. Try to keep up with the changes. We hope the Pension Planner will help in this process. It may not be fun to read, but it will certainly be easier to understand.
